Bio
Martin Ssekajja is currently the Head of Information Technology at Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA), He has worked with the KCCA since 2011, He has previously worked with Uganda Revenue Authority and Makerere University. Martin has vast experience working with International Agencies such UNDP, World Bank, AFD, and International Networks such ASToN (Africa Smart Cities Network Network), WeGO (World Smart and Sustainable Cities Organization), The Global Smart Cities Alliance, and the Smart Cities World. Martin holds an Executive Master’s Degree in Business Administration from East and South African Management Institute Tanzania, a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology from Makerere University. He has been certified in various leadership and technology courses locally and globally. The following are some of the notable achievements, • Chairman Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club. • Executive Committee Member of the World Smart and Sustainable Cities • Advisory Board Member of the Smart Cities World. • Advisory Board Member of SEMA • Certificate of Appreciation for Chairing and Transforming the KCCA Staff SACCO • Country Project Manager for Africa Smart Cities Network (ASToN) by French Development Agency, 2019 • Best Chief Information Officer, Government of Uganda, 2019 • Silver Award for best Cooperative Smart City by WeGO, 2017 • Participated in formulation of the Smart City framework at the United Nations Commission on Science and Technology for Development, Geneva • Certificate of Recognition by CIO East Africa 2015 • Business Excellence Award by Uganda Communications Commission, 2015 • Best Chief Information Officer Uganda (Country Category), by PWC and CIO East Africa, 2014 • KCCA Executive Directors award for best Team, 2013 • Set up KCCA Citywide Communication Infrastructure and Online transactions • Project Manager for the Pilot City Surveillance System • Mentor for Microsoft Imagine Cup Innovations
