Project Manager Government Networks @ NITA-U
A result orientated project leader with over 6 years’ experience supporting complex Network infrastructure projects for both private sector and Government in East Africa- throughout the project cycle, from inception, planning, designing, implementing and evaluations. Patrick is a strong team player, comfortable in leading and being part of teams. He is accomplished both in people and project management, approaching each assignment with passion, careful to detail and easily adaptable to changing project requirements to meet business objectives. Patrick holds MSc. ICT Policy Planning, Management and Architectural Design, Bsc Computer Science and Economics from Uganda Martyrs University, Diploma in Telecommunications Engineering from UICT-Nakawa, PMC from UMI, PRINCE2, CFOT, CFOND from eDevelopment Resource Center Nairobi-Kenya and CCNA. Currently he is pursuing an MBA from University of East London and CAPM. Patrick is also a member of the Fiber Optic Association (FOA) US, Triple Play Optic fiber training Center SA and a Certified Optic Fiber in Communication Networks Trainer. Patrick began his career with MTN Uganda, the leading telecoms company in the country working for over 8 years in network operations and maintenance and supporting different network upgrade projects (Power, Transport, Core and GMS). He joined NITA-U, the National Information Technology Authority-Uganda, the regulatory organ in 2018 as the Project Manager Government Networks-Connectivity where he successfully delivered a complex infrastructure project under Regional Communication Infrastructure Program (RCIP) to extend last mile optic fiber based connection to over 700 agencies across the Country, a task he delivered on time, the Covid-19 disruptions notwithstanding. This Last Mile Connectivity Project Patrick led, with a scope of 700 connections is the first of its kind in the World Bank supported projects globally to be delivered within 18 months.
