Bio

Robert Kirunda is the co-founding Partner of the firm. A specialist in transaction advisory work, Robert has a wealth of experience in banking, project structuring and finance, transaction advisory, and in the agriculture sector. Robert’s experience is broad and cuts across both the public and private sectors. He leads the Corporate & Commercial as well as the Banking and Finance work of the firm. Robert has focused his banking and finance practice on the dynamic Fintech space. He advises the leading companies in Uganda on blockchain and is a thought leader in this space. For the last ten years, Robert has taught law at the Makerere University Law School, specializing in commercial law disciplines. He has written and published widely on various issues within the law and in the larger context of society. Robert has previously interned with the Africa Legal Department of the World Bank, Washington D.C. He is an honors graduate of Makerere University Law School. He holds a Master of Laws (Cum Laude) from the University of Western Cape (South Africa), is a graduate of the International Legal Studies Program at American University, Washington College of Law, and holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice. Robert spends some of his free time as a regular commentator on matters of concern to society.
